Today, the Preston Motors Group is lauded as one of the longest established and most highly respected motor vehicle retailers in Australia.

The Preston Carrying Company was started in 1912 with the belief that one day trucks would replace horse drawn vehicles.

The business thrived, operating five-tonne chain driven trucks principally to transport milk from the dairy farms of Thomastown and Epping to Melbourne.

In the spirit of innovative customer service, the company’s Buick doubled as a hire vehicle on weekends to chauffeur city folk around the countryside.

One weekend, a passenger asked where she could buy a Buick. And so, Preston Motors was born.

Australia's own car, the Holden was launched in 1948 with Preston Motors operating as an appointed distributor from the inception of Holden vehicles. The Essendon North location continues to serve their loyal Holden customers.

Today, the Preston Motors Group is able to provide the most competitive pricing and after sales service on all major volume-selling vehicle makes in Australia.

A diverse range of brands are now available under the ‘PM Mark of Service’ banner. The Preston Motors brand has built upon the success of the Holden dealership in Essendon to include Mitsubishi/Ralliart and Suzuki at 1551 Sydney Road, Campbellfield, and Mitsubishi/Ralliart and Proton showrooms at 41 Lonsdale St, Dandenong.

Preston Motors Parts, one of Victoria’s biggest parts and accessories suppliers also operates out of the Dandenong facility.

The Peugeot and Porsche marques have recently come on board with Brighton European for Peugeot at 859 Nepean Hwy, Brighton and the brand new official Porsche dealership, Porsche Centre Brighton, now at 855 Nepean Hwy, Brighton.
